British designer label Burberry has brought the latest installment of its trench coat centered ‘Art of the Trench’ photography exhibition to Shanghai, the largest city in China.
The recently opened Burberry store at the K-11 art mall in Shanghai held the photography exhibition which displays the iconic Burberry trench coat and its wearers, captured by Chinese photographer Trunk Xu.
The exhibition displays pictures of more than 50 of Shanghai’s established and emerging celebrities from the field of art, music, fashion, business and sport, wearing the iconic Burberry trench coat captured at various locations throughout the city.
British supermodel Cara Delevigne, the face of Burberry’s Body Tender campaign, hosted the event clad in a white, tailored Burberry suit.
The photo exhibit at the Shanghai store would run till September 19, 2013, and visitors would be able to experience the ‘Art of Trench’ digital installations of the photographs via interactive touch-screens.
The first edition of the trench coat centered exhibition was launched in 2009, where London based fashionistas were photographed wearing the trench coat on the streets. Since then, the exhibition has been held at Chicago, Sao Paolo and New Delhi.
The ‘Art of the Trench’ is a project initiated by Burberry to document the iconic trench coat and people who wear it. The project is a collaboration between the designer label and some of the world’s leading photographers.
