Looking to grab a large slice of the world''s largest consumer market US based clothing giant VF Corp launched its famous Wrangler jeanswear brand in China.
The company will open two Wrangler stores in Beijing and Shanghai this month with the label also available in up to 20 department stores in the two cities by the end of this calendar year.
Officials said they plan an aggressive rollout of Wrangler in other cities across the country next year with the product collection consisting of denim jeans and jackets, knit and woven tops, heavyweight jackets and accessories.
Tom Ting, managing director of VF Corp China and Hong Kong, said: "The Shanghai and Beijing store openings mark Wrangler jeanswear''s entry into the world''s largest consumer market.
"We are confident that Wrangler will be the brand that everyone in China will be watching in the coming year."
VF’s other leading brands such as Lee, Jansport, The North Face, and Nautica have already entered the China market but Wrangler jeanswear has until now never been sold in China despite its presence in the rest of the world.
