Leather and leather products exports from Turkey amounted to US$ 123,977 during the month of January 2014, showing a rise of 7.8 percent compared to the same month in 2013, as per the latest data released by the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM).
According to the January 2013 Export Data Report of TIM, Turkey exported leather and leather articles worth $123,977 during January 2014, whereas the country exported leather and leather goods worth $115,045 during the same month in 2013.
Exports of Leather and leather products accounted for 1 percent of the overall exports made from Turkey during the month of January 2014.
Meanwhile, as per the TIM data, Turkey exported carpets worth $178,414 during the month of January 2014, recording a rise of 7.5 percent year-on-year.
Turkey exported carpets worth $178,414 during January 2014, whereas carpet exports amounted to $165,998 during the same month in 2013.
Exports of Turkish carpets accounted for 1.5 percent of the overall exports made from Turkey during the month of January this year.
Last year, Turkey exported leather and leather products worth $1.9 billion, registering a rise of 16.4 percent year-on-year, whereas carpet exports from the country totaled to $2.19 billion during 2013, indicating a surge of 9.3 percent year-on-year.
