Xinxiang Chemical Fiber Co. Ltd., based in Henan province of China, has commenced construction of an ultra-soft spandex fibre project, and a groundbreaking ceremony was held last week.
Shao Jin, chairman of the company, said the construction of ultra-soft spandex fiber project with an annual capacity of four million tons is likely to be completed in 24 months time.
The new project is being built on an area of nearly 80,000 sq m at a cost of 1.75 billion yuan, and is the first such large-scale investment made by Xinxiang Chemical Fiber, Shao Jin said.
Advanced continuous polymerization, dry spinning technology and equipment would be installed at the new super-soft spandex plant to produce superior quality product at low cost, giving a competitive advantage to the company, according to a statement.
Once operational, the plant will significantly enhance the company’s economic strength and also make a positive contribution to economic and social development in Xinxiang, the statement adds.
Shao Jin informed that in future, the company will continue to broaden the areas of development, extend the industrial chain, increase R&D investment, and enhance innovation capability to have a leading position in fiber technology.
