RadiciGroup at Plastindia 2015: focus on nylon specialities |
2015-2-13
It’s the fourth appearance at Plastindia for RadiciGroup, which has been present on the Indian market since 2006 with Radici Plastics Modi (P) Ltd. At the event, RadiciGroup’s focus is going to be on RADILON and RADISTRONG nylon specialities.
Now in its 9th edition, Plastindia is one of the most important international exhibitions for the plastics industry, which is expected to achieve strong growth in this Asian country. According to a post by Plastindia Foundation, between 2013 and 2020, plastics consumption in India is set to increase from 12 million tons to 20 million tons, and during the same time period, plastics processing machines will increase from 110,000 to 180,000 units.
“Among the emerging countries, India plays a very significant role for our business area,” said Silvio Dorati, managing director India of the RadiciGroup Plastics Business Area. “What we are talking about here is a region where the domestic plastics demand growth rate is going to be about 6% over the next few years and industries experiencing strong growth, such as automotive, electrical/electronics, construction and infrastructure, are going to become ever more exciting for our engineering plastics business. We have good room for market development, for both our basic products and for our latest nylon specialities.”
“Since 2013, after moving Radici Plastics Modi to Lajpat Nagar, South Delhi, New Delhi,” Mr. Dorati continued, “we have been working on starting up our strategically important local production, for now only through a local toll compounder, which is producing for us. But this is just a first crucial step that should enable us to grow on the Indian market from within. Sometime in the future, either through an acquisition or by creating a start-up company, we intend to set up our own independent production activity”.
