Nilit Aquarius marks a new generation in nylon 6.6 yarns |
2015-3-19
Israel-based Nilit has launched Aquarius—a new innovation in nylon 6.6 yarns.
Nilit Aquarius is a unique, high-performance yarn engineered to wick away moisture and designed to keep the wearer feeling dry and comfortable, said Nilit.
“Moisture absorbed by fibres makes garments wet, heavy and very uncomfortable to wear. Today’s active lifestyles require garments that can stand up to stress, are easy to maintain and keep the wearer comfortable,” the company said in a statement.
“Just like its astrological namesake, Aquarius the water bearer, the Nilit Aquarius fibres transport moisture away from the skin through the garment and out toward the air. The fibres are extremely well suited to all types of sportswear, activewear and dancewear,” the statement added.
Hydrophilic attributes are intrinsic in the Nilit Aquarius fibre and will not wear off even after repeated washings. Another unique feature is a triple T cross-section of the filaments that increase the surface area for improved moisture management. The special cross-section creates “micro-channels” in the fibre which actually carry moisture away from the body.
Thinking about moisture management from a whole new angle, Nilit actually modifies nylon 6.6 yarns with a special additive intrinsic in the polymer itself, and not a topical treatment that disappears over time due to repeated washings.
Nilit Aquarius yarns are tested and proven for advantages in wicking, absorbing and evaporating moisture. The fibre actually accelerates the removal of perspiration and moisture away from the body; penetration into the garment; and further evaporation out into the air.
