Intimate apparel maker Delta Galil Industries Ltd., Israel, says its second quarter sales increased by 7.5% to $141M. whilst net income soared by 65% to $5.3M.
Following a decline in first three months of this year Delta''s sales to UK chain Marks & Spencer increased to $47.4M. in the second quarter, up by 41% on the first quarter and by 14% over the comparable period a year ago.
Second quarter sales to the North American market increased by 1% to $69.9M., the consequence of a 19% hike in mass market sales, which accounted for $52.2M. of the total, and a 30% drop in sales to speciality and department stores.
At the half-year mark Delta''s sales are up by 8.6% to $277.9M. and net income up by 149% to $12.7M.
