Nepal : Export Of Woolen Carpet Decreases by 8% |

According to the Nepali Carpet and Wool Development Board the woolen carpet exports decreased by eight percent in the fiscal year 2002/2003 over the previous fiscal year, recording a plummet for the third consecutive year.
The volume of woolen carpets exported during fiscal year 2002/ 2003, which ended to July 15 this year, remained 1.56 million square meters, a decline from 1.69 million square meters recorded in the fiscal year 2001/2002.
The exports of woolen carpet, Nepal''s second largest export item, were 2.24 million square meters and 2.51 million square meters during the fiscal year 2000/2001 and 1999/2000, respectively.
